Beware those Real Estate Foreclosure Scams

Trapped San Diego Home Owne
Carlsbad, CA — I can’t begin to tell you how often we get emails and calls about how we can increase our real estate income if we will just turn our distressed clients with distressed mortgages over to “them.”
“Them” are the folks who charge financially strapped folks $1500, $2500 or maybe $4000 to help them out with loan modifications or stalling foreclosures. “Them” may be attorneys, self-appointed advisors, real estate agents–or even one of the multi-level marketing schemes that crop up when easy money is to be made.
If you are a San Diego homeowner facing foreclosure–or simply need to get your mortgage into line with what you can afford–please begin your search for a solution at our own government’s Making Homes Affordable site where they advise the following:
- There is never a fee to get assistance or information about Making Home Affordable from your lender or a HUD-approved housing counselor.
- Beware of any person or organization that asks you to pay a fee in exchange for housing counseling services or modification of a delinquent loan. Do not pay – walk away!
- Beware of anyone who says they can “save” your home if you sign or transfer over the deed to your house. Do not sign over the deed to your property to any organization or individual unless you are working directly with your mortgage company to forgive your debt.
- Never submit your mortgage payments to anyone other than your mortgage company without their approval.
If you are up to your ears in mortgage issues, please feel free to give Mike or me a call at 877-818-8197 or 760-402-9101/9102. I can’t guarantee we can solve your real estate problem, but our advice and direction is free:-)

Very good advice to walk away. It is a shame that people will prey on those in a weakened financial state.

Thanks for those advice, it would really help us a lot. With this, we will avoid ourselves from financial crisis.
Very informative post, with this kind of posts we can save our economy.
It's unfortunate that so many people are facing these decisions in San Diego. Even here in Oceanside, there are a number of homeowners that are seeking debt relief or facing foreclosure.
Thanks for the warning.. And thank you also that you tackle this issue.. This will avoid the scammers to abuse real estate investors..
I discovered your blog today, this is a really great post you made, hope to see more from you!
