San Diego School Lunches Win Top Honors

When it comes to serving healthy school lunches, San Diego’s are the healthiest in the nation, second only to Pinellas County Schools in Florida. This honor comes directly from an annual report issued by the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine. The San Diego Unified School District earned an A- for its healthy lunch offerings, said officials with the SDUSD. Their score? 93 percent.
This is the second year the district has earned second place honors for offering students fresh and healthful low-fat meals which also include two vegetarian meals twice a week.
